What to Bring? What should you pack for your dog's stay?
FOOD: Please bring your dog’s normal food for the duration of their stay. If you do not provide a scoop, we will use ours, which is a 1 cup sample scoop from Purina. Please ask to see our scoop to compare it to yours to be sure the amount of food is correct.
We recommend that you send more than enough food. Rarely, if dogs seem to be losing weight in boarding we have increased their ration slightly. Rarely, people get held up due to weather or other issues and pick their dogs up a bit later than they had planned. A little extra food never hurts, and will be returned to you at the end of your dog’s stay. A few times we have had owners miscalculate and not send enough food. We strongly recommend sending more than you think your dog will need. Any extra food will be returned to you when you pick up your dog.
If your dog is a picky eater it may help to send some canned food to use as a topper on kibble. Please make sure it is a food that agrees with your dog.
If your dog is prone to upset stomach when boarding, we highly recommend that you send them with Purina Forti Flora (probiotic). We usually have it in stock here and can administer ours for $1 per dose.
If your dog is due for flea/tick preventative or heartworm preventative simply send it with them marked with the date when they should have it administered and we will administer it.
Wolf Mountain Kennel: Items In Kennel Policy
Send items at your own risk. While we will make every attempt to return everything to you, but any item sent with your dog MAY NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU Any dog which does not bring bedding from home will be provided either a Kuranda cot or a Primo Pad (closed cell foam sealed in vinyl). Our guests may bring beds or blankets from home. We strongly recommend no soft items for dogs under the age of 2, as they are more likely to chew them which may result in ingestion of fabric which can be very dangerous for your dog. If your dog does come with a bed from home, please only send easily machine washable items. Any bed that comes with a dog MAY not be returned to you in the unlikely event it is soiled beyond our ability to clean it. In this case the bed will be disposed of. For this reason, please do not send expensive beds or any item that you would be upset if it were lost. If we see any evidence that your dog has begun to chew or destroy their bedding it will be removed immediately for the duration of the stay.
Smaller items: Dogs may bring smaller items such as kongs, edible chews, or non edible chews IF they can be safely left unsupervised with those items. Those items can be left in the kennel for the dog to enjoy.
Please only send items that your dog can be left safely unsupervised with, as we may not always be able to supervise them with these chews. While dogs may enjoy having chew items in the kennel you are assuming the risk of leaving dog unsupervised with this item. If you are unsure, please do not send chew items with your dog.
-bully sticks-antler chews-bone chews-kongs
Rarely, a dog will carry an item out into a field or other area and it may be lost so please do not send anything expensive or irreplaceable.
We do have balls and other toys which are available to the dogs when they are out for playtime.
-If your dog is trained on an E Collar or a bark collar, ask us if your dog should bring this with them.
What NOT to bring:
-You do not need to bring bowls or dishes. We have plenty of stainless steel bowls which are sanitized between uses.
-small toys are hard to keep track of, so please keep them home
