Rune is from our 2024 Pixie/Brew litter. I'm very excited to watch her grow up.
One definition of "Rune" is "a mark or letter of mysterious or magic significance." When Rune was born, she had the same white hairs inside her paw pads that her mother has and she was the only puppy in the litter that had it. Rune casting is an ancient art if divination and I chose this name as a nod to her mother's kennel name and registered name.
My favorite things about Rune-
She's just physically beautiful, moderate, nice proportion of leg. Her front end is an improvement on her mother. She has a beautiful thick coat that is magically easy to dry. She is extremely athletic, fast, graceful, and apparently immune to gravity. She has a tender little heart of gold & is just such a lovely family member.
She's got the drive but her off switch when not working is excellent. She is extremely easy to live with. She will work for food or toys but she has a strong work ethic based on pleasing her person and I believe she cares more about figuring out how to do what I asked of her and do it well than whatever reward I attach to it. She's very intelligent, she enjoys figuring out things she thinks I will like without me actually teaching her. She tends to remember everything from the first try.
She's got her mother's nose and I LOVE working her in tracking an scent work.
Rune's first recorded jump in competition was 15' 6" in ASCA dock jumping! As an 18 month old, her first jump of these season was 19', 10". She is an incredible athlete!
Rune is showing in UKC conformation. In her very first show ever, she was awarded Best Female over her mom and another Labrador bitch. She already has 2 competition wins and about half her points to finish. Very proud of her!
She is an excellent tracker, like her mother. Rune passed her AKC Tracking Dog test this spring in blowing wind and rain! She showed excellent work ethic despite the weather. I'm super proud of her.
