We love our dogs like family.
We have never boarded them because most kennels are loud, cramped, institutional places where dogs are frequently stressed, isolated, and warehoused. For more than 20 years we searched high and low for a boarding kennel where our dogs could get interaction, genuine affection and individual attention in a quiet, calm, soothing environment. We wanted our dogs to feel comfortable, relaxed, and really enjoy their stay. Since no place even remotely like this existed, we decided to create one! We called it Wolf Mountain Kennel in honor of our beloved black German Shepherd Dog, nicknamed “Wolf.” Our goal for Wolf Mountain has always been to be the nicest, cleanest, quietest, and flat out best kennel your dog has ever visited.
You never have to feel bad about boarding your dog at Wolf Mountain Kennel. Our returning guests literally leap from their parent’s cars and happily run to see us! Your dog will have so much fun during their stay they may not want to leave. Even though they’re having fun, we know you miss them. So we post pictures and videos on social media so you can follow your dog having fun during their stay!
What’s different about us?
Everything! You’ve never seen a place like this! We offer top quality professional care in a quiet, spacious, low stress environment. Our capacity is limited, which means we really get to know each dog individually and provide specialized care. We truly place quality over quantity! We’ve designed our schedule so your dog never has to wait too long in between potty breaks, exercise times, or getting attention from staff.
We reside on the property, and personally perform a nightly check on all of our guests.
Everyone goes out for one last potty, is given a bedtime cookie, and gets individually checked to ensure they are healthy and happy. First thing the next morning they go out again, then come in for breakfast and daily fun begins anew.
All this individual attention is labor-intensive, but we feel strongly it is the right thing to do. Other kennels leave dogs confined until they are forced to soil their space and then sit in it waiting for staff to arrive. For a properly housebroken dog this is understandably stressful. We keep our kennels immaculately clean which keeps our building fresh and smelling more like a home. This helps your dog relax.
All-Inclusive!
We provide unique exercise and enrichment opportunities throughout the day. Dogs can hike, play with friends, swim, even snuggle with staff in front of the fireplace. We also have a large indoor play area with a padded floor for rainy or cold days. After all this activity, dogs want to come indoors and relax or take a nap. To encourage peaceful rest, we play soothing music during nap times and at bedtime. All daily activities are included in the daily boarding or daycare rate.
Safety is our number-one priority. We closely supervise all dog-dog interactions to ensure that they are positive. We group dogs based on appropriate size, temperament, age and other factors to be sure that everyone has a safe and happy stay.
The crown jewel of Wolf Mountain Kennel is something not offered at any other facility in all of New England - sixty acres of fenced, privately-owned forest and meadows, crisscrossed with hiking trails and featuring a spring-fed pond and immaculately maintained dock-diving pool all for your dog’s enjoyment! Our perimeter fence means your supervised dog can run and play “off the leash”!

Please read the requirements for services below:
1. All new dogs must attend a trial stay of at least 1 day of daycare. We may request additional stays if we are not sure your dog will be a good fit after daycare.
2. We require vaccine records from your vet showing that your dog is current on Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella and negative fecal screening with Giardia before your dog can visit our property. We prefer the IDEXX antigen fecal screening test which looks for worms and Giardia.
3. You must sign our agreement/waiver and policies.
4. Please DO NOT bring sick dogs for daycare or boarding (coughing, sores, diarrhea, etc.). If your dog is scheduled to check in for daycare or boarding and develops a problem such as diarrhea or coughing, please call us immediately BEFORE you bring the dog to Wolf Mountain. It is our policy not to check in dogs with certain symptoms that may be contagious, or who have been exposed to dogs with these symptoms, to protect the other dogs on the property. If your dog develops a new injury or health condition prior to a boarding stay, please contact us to be sure we are equipped to handle any necessary care. We may refer you to a veterinarian for boarding.
5. Ensure your dog is free from external parasites (fleas), and on current flea/tick preventive.
6. Ensure your dog can be reasonably expected not to jump, climb, or dig out of a 6 foot fence.
7. Ensure your dog is not aggressive toward dogs or people.
